Scholarship for Aspiring Farriers Honors Young Farrier

Scholarship for Aspiring Farriers Honors Young Farrier

The Jamison Albright Foundation for Farrier Scholarships (J.A.F.F.F.S) has been established in memory of Jamison Albright, an aspiring Master Farrier who passed away May 1, 2008 as a result of a motorcycle accident. To honor his memory, love of the equine industry, and passion to become a legendary Farrier, the J.A.F.F.F.S has been created to help others fulfill their dreams of becoming a Master Farrier.

J.A.F.F.F.S is a charitable trust established for the purpose of awarding scholarships to individuals interested in a career as a Farrier. The foundation is centered around a firm belief that formal education is the best way to prepare individuals in the care and maintenance of the feet of the horse to ensure sound performance with minimal injury or risk to the animal. With formal instruction and experienced instructors, the student can develop a firm foundation and confidence to ensure a successful career as a certified Farrier.

Scholarship winners are selected based upon dedication, interest, and experience in the field, financial need, social and academic background, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement of aspirations and goals pertaining to becoming a Master Farrier. Applicants for the scholarship must be either in the process of applying, enrolled, or recently graduated from an American Farrier school.
