Farrier Science Research
Surface Strain On The Equine Hoof Wall In Vivo: Implications for the Material Design and Functional Morphology of the Wall

1992. Our aim in this paper is to link current interpretations of the functional design of hoof material, which were derived from histological studies and engineering tests in vitro, with an assessment of how the material is loaded in vivo.

Photogrammetric Measurement of Deformations of Horse Hoof Horn Capsules

2001. The goal of this project is to describe the vertical deformation and to explain the role and the importance of this mechanism for the soundness of hooves and limbs of horses.
